What is Compost Tea?

A liquid solution that has taken the beneficial microorganisms from compost and combined them with other nutrients. Mariposa Naturescapes uses the aerated compost tea brand, Simplici-Tea, from local Redmond company, Keep It Simple, Inc. Find out much more about compost tea here.

Benefits of Compost Tea

Helps extend plant root systems
Increases plant water and nutrient retention
Aids in breaking down toxins in soil and on the plants
Increases the number of organisms to compete with disease-causing organisms
Decreases use of chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers

Generally 4 applications (between mid-March to mid-September - every 6 weeks or so) are sufficient to build soil health and plant vigor. In cases of very poor soil or significant plant disease, more (and foliar) applications may be recommended.
