Company Background

Mariposa Naturescapes, LLC is licensed, bonded, and insured as a Specialty Contractor in WA (License# MARIPNL936JE).  We are based in West Seattle and have a small native plant nursery there.  We strive to be reliable, thorough, reasonably priced, and to support our customers in accomplishing their native plant landscaping goals in an organically and ecologically sound manner.

What We Do

Mariposa Naturescapes assists homeowners, businesses, and local governments with the following services: designing native plant planting plans; planting native trees, shrubs, and groundcovers; removing invasive plants; consulting on gardening with native plants and Backyard Wildlife Habitat certification (through National Wildlife Federation); sheet mulching for weed control/grass removal; hand weeding; pruning small trees & shrubs – up to 10’; general yard clean-up; laying compost, bark mulch, rocks, & stepping stones (for simple paths); and building/maintaining raised vegetable beds.  We also sell reasonably-priced retail native plants in West Seattle (plants in stock are variable & nursery hours are by appt.).

Mission

Our mission is to restore the Seattle-area landscape for wildlife and people by densely planting site-appropriate PACIFIC NW NATIVE PLANTS in yards and green spaces.  We also dedicate ourselves to educate the general public about the many benefits and uses of native plants in order to inspire better understanding, appreciation, and stewardship of the natural world outside each of our doors and beyond.

Service Area

We generally provide services within a 15-mile radius to the north, east, and south of West Seattle (our home base).
